from seashore to mountain side
here is mom and dad once again with their friends in maine. the mountains there are not as high as we have but they sure offer beautiful views.
this sure looks like a fun trip. i know dad enjoyed seafood on this trip. mom probably had burgers or chicken.

a more relaxed moment
for the girls and their well won hardware. a quick trip by some burger or pizza place. maybe a treat like diary queen then the trip home. from phoenix it was bad enough. someplace like camp verder was awful; while coming back from say new mexico, nervada or california was just downright painful. monday morning and work/school came early.

sarah's 1993 travel team
this was one of sarah's better teams and when pretty far on the tournament schedule that year. this team took up a lot of time and money as they were on the road almost every weekend that season. fun times and was coached by the 'infamous' norm hogger. this is the team photo after winning one of the tournaments in phoenix.

Happy President's Day...
From my friends at >>Blue Sky Disney<<:
Happy President's Day...
Well, I guess "Happy" isn't exactly the right word...
I never liked it when they combined the celebration of Lincoln's birthday and Washington's birthday into the generic "President's Day". I really don't think it does those two men the justice they deserve. Abraham Lincoln being the "Preserver of the Union" and George Washington being the "Father of our Nation" seems to demand more respect than having a generic holiday that honors all our presidents... I don't feel all of them need such praise, I mean after all, do we need to praise Warren G. Harding? I mean the man was not built to be president... but I digress. Let's just say I think Ab and George hold a special place in America's heritage.

another park moment we can no longer have.
here is mom on the people mover in 1992. sadly, the people mover is no longer with us and it missed so very much by so many. my favorite people mover moment was holly (on her first trip to the park) holding up her hands like she was on a roller coaster. if only i had a picture of that.

today is the 50th running of the great american race, the daytona 500. good luck to all and be safe.

yet another part of the park gone
this is mom sitting on that vibrating chair in the entrance que at the old country bear jamboree. sadly, this ride has departed and has been replaced by the many adventures of winnie the poo. that's not a bad dark ride, just misplaced.
no longer can we hear big al sing blood on the saddle or watch swinging teddy bear-a come down from the ceiling.

at the end of my bachelorhood
these were taken sometime in mid 1976 at the little 1 bedroom duplex i lived at just off miracle mile and grant. just a bedroom w/ a 3/4 bath; small kitchen and a small room where i had a chair.
this was a fun time in my life really. i wish i had more from this period to share with you. i had a lot of energy and dreams then. I was going to school, still diving and had just met who would be my first wife. a period of fun and being as happy as i have ever been in my life. i still crack up when i see my hair then. very funny stuff.
