A wish for all mothers today.

I hope you are full of happiness and are blessed in every way.

A mother's job is not to create a bed of roses,
but to help them learn how to pick their way through the thorns.

Elaine Heffner

I have posted this picture before, but I never tire of looking at it:

My words are unworthy of conveying how I truly feel about you. Of expressing thanks for all the things you have given me over the years. I can never adequately express my admiration for you and could never give voice to the examples you conveyed by the way you lived your life. I can only say ‘I love you’ and pray to the Lord he will whisper in you ear my meaning. God blessed my dad so much by giving him your love. You are truly a wonderful woman. Thank you for all you have done.

Happy Mother’s Day, today and always.

WOW....ditto what Connie said!

What is in that red and white striped cylinder? A piece of original Disney artwork? An animation cell? A poster of Yogi Bear like Jan Brady got at King's Island?

Thank you for the comments.

That was a portrait that was drawn of me on Main Street USA back then. They are located in NOS now. I want to say I paid $2.75 for the drawing. That may be off by a dollar, but was around that amount.

I remember being embarrassed and lugging that tube around all day in the park. 39 years later; what I wouldn't give to run across it in a box somewhere around here.

Maybe it will turn up one day! I still have the caricature that was drawn of me at the park when I was 11 years old. It was done at the caricature kiosk that used to sit near the exit to Storybook Land.
